Upon completing my education, I remained in London to continue developing my dissertation project, which I believed had significant potential. This led me to ThePrint, where I took on the role of Lead Designer and Manufacturer. In this position, I managed the operation and maintenance of laser cutters, vinyl cutters, and 3D printers, overseeing end-to-end production. I worked with a diverse range of clients, including the Tate Modern, Bare Conductive, and Damien Hirst, creating print-ready graphics and physically producing them to meet high-quality standards.
This role offered valuable insight into the operations of a start-up and the complexities of batch manufacturing. During my time at ThePrint, I was also given creative freedom to explore new retail product ideas. One notable project was the development of the "Voronoi Clock," a home decor piece. I researched material capabilities and explored procedural codes that could generate a fractal aesthetic. The result was a visually striking product that was well-received by customers and successfully sold in the market. This experience sharpened both my technical and creative skills, blending design with manufacturing processes.
