Recycled Plastic Bottle Opener _ Festival Workshop
During my role at Fab Lab Roskilde University, I supported the lab gurus in maintaining machinery and guiding both students and the public through the design and prototyping process. I led step-by-step workshops that introduced participants to various fabrication techniques, ensuring they could effectively translate their designs into tangible products.
One of the key projects I developed involved demonstrating the versatility of recycled plastics. I designed workshops that showcased how waste plastics could be shredded, melted in a portable oven, and pressed into forms created using CNC machines. This streamlined, mobile system allowed me to take the process to events and workshops, highlighting the material's strength and durability.
A notable example was at the Roskilde Music Festival, where we engaged participants in recycling waste from the surrounding campsite. In return, they produced bottle openers from recycled materials, providing an interactive experience that promoted sustainability while demonstrating the practical applications of the Fab Lab’s resources.
